Screen Printing and Silk Screening

Screen printing or silk screen printing uses stencils to apply printing ink onto a fabric stretched on a screen frame. The screen refers to a mesh that allows the ink to transfer only the areas that are designed to be colored. Multiple color designs require multiple print runs and stencils, one for each color. Originally, these meshes were made out of silk, nowadays polyester mesh preferred for precision and durability. Serigraph printing and serigraphy are technical terms for the same process.

We use environmentally friendly soft feel inks instead of the older stiff feeling plastisol inks that chaffed.
